Our second camera club themed "Urban Night" competition of 2013 saw our printed entries. Out of 43 entries images entered on the night my entry of "Broadcasting Station" came a respectable 3rd place, the judge said the image was very well taken and the composition well thought out, he also liked the fact that the decking boards led the eye into the image.I also entered another night shot named "Buoy what a view!" in the open competition, again this image came 3rd out of 37 images on the night. The judge said "it's full of colour but what makes this image work is the Buoy with the flashing light" in the foreground and the glass like finish on the water.
I seem to drawn to this area of Salford due to the many photographic opportunities when the sun departs us for the day. For me there is no interest in the day time to this area but the colour only comes out at night time with the many changes LED lights that illuminate most of the buildings and structures.
